The change specifically targets the Mac desktop app. Voice capabilities continue functioning normally through the ChatGPT website, which works on any browser, as well as through mobile apps on iOS and Android platforms. Windows desktop users also keep their voice functionality. Mac is the only desktop platform affected.
The reasoning for the Mac-specific change remains somewhat unclear.
