A GI Doc’s “Smart 7” List for Natural Liver Support

Date:

A Florida-based specialist in digestion has shared his “Smart 7” list of fruits and vegetables for natural liver support. These foods are chosen for their specific, powerful nutritional profiles.
The list includes smart pairings, like watermelon with lime. This combination of citrulline and vitamin C is recommended for its ability to support nitric oxide production and promote healthy blood flow to the liver.
Another smart pick is cranberries. The expert highlights them for their role in the gut-liver axis, stating that their prebiotic polyphenols are crucial for a healthy gut, which is “linked to a healthier liver.”
Pomegranates and raspberries are also on the “smart” list. Pomegranates for their anti-inflammatory polyphenols, and raspberries for their metabolic-boosting fiber and anthocyanins, which help regulate blood sugar and fat.
The list is rounded out with apples and cinnamon (for insulin sensitivity), beetroot (for its fat-processing nutrient, betaine), and strawberries with dark chocolate (70%+). This last item is praised for its flavanols, which support cardiometabolic health.
